Facility and Inmate Relationship
|
Behavior BasicsAnyone who comes against the authority of, or offends
any Chaplain, will be removed from the facility and be subject to CCDOT
Discipline. Abstain from cursing, verbalizing vulgarities or
slang, harassing, physically abusing or threatening others, lying, or stealing. Respect the personal rights, safety, and health of
others. Respect personal property. Do not damage or misuse
property belonging to others. Refrain from the possession, use, or distribution of
any form of alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs. Refrain from smoking on facility property. If one
must smoke, wait until he or she leaves the premises. Refrain from possessing any type of firearm or weapon
while on facility property. Exchange of address and phone numbers with inmates is
strictly forbidden! Correspondence with inmates must be approved by the Chaplain
and written only on CCDOT stationary as an outreach of CCDOT. Released inmates cannot visit your home. Outside
contact following a release must be confined to fellowship at a local church or
at CCDOT church-related functions, unless otherwise approved by the TSC. Speak the Word and CCD concepts only. Friendly
conversation is okay, but effort should be exercised not to discuss personal
affairs with inmates. Effort should be made to stay on the Word and the CCD
lesson. Be punctual. Keep your commitments and time schedule.
Tardiness could jeopardize CCDOT's involvement at an institution. Arrive on
time, and leave on time. Dress as an ambassador of Jesus Christ.
Tight-fitting, or revealing clothing will not be allowed in a facility. Both men

doubt, stick to a handshake. Gossiping within the structure of the prison ministry
will be cause for discipline. Never take anything into a prison to give to an
inmate, unless the Chaplain has approved it. Never take anything from an inmate
to carry out of a prison or jail. Anything that can be done legally can be done
on the inside of the facility by the inmate through communication with the
Chaplain. There will be no letter writing of women to men, or
men to women in any facility. Women will not minister to men, or men to women,
unless prior permission has been given, or unless it is a husband/wife team
ministering together. No one-on-ones will be allowed between opposite sexes. Never give your own opinion. Worker could be held
accountable. Only give the Word of God and CCD concepts. Do's and Don'tsDo - Display submission to authority. The Chaplain is
the "authority" in the institution. Do - Bring in a valid, current, photo ID or have
official badge with you each time. Do - Come fully prepared with the prescribed material
at hand. (CCD books should be followed so that all 12-steps are administered). Do - Apply CCD concepts to other captivating works of
the flesh. Do - Dress modestly. Do - Exercise extreme wisdom concerning physical
contact. Do - Be aware of con games. Do - Be trustworthy and faithful with confidential
information. Do - Be prepared to handle flirting or romantic
advances. Do - Show respect for the Speaker, and never talk
during programs. Do - Use the Word of God to encourage and give hope. Do - Display the Love of God. Be kind and courteous
to everyone. Do - Be yourself. Do - Respect authority, and immediately obey
instructions from Prison Staff and the Chaplain. Don't argue. Don't give out your address or telephone number. Don't make promises that you can't keep. Don't ask why a person is, or has been, in
prison/jail. Don't discuss the death penalty. Don't take anything in or out of prison/jail without
approval. Don't criticize staff, the institution, authority, or
inmates. Don't enter any business transactions with inmates. Don't give business cards to inmates. The Chaplain
can contact you if necessary. Don't run on prison/jail grounds. Don't dress in the same colors as inmates. Don't dress in solid "gang" colors (e.g.
